Why sell International Top-ups?

  • 200 million migrants worldwide send $400 billion in cash back home every year.
  • High remittance fees make it difficult for migrants to send small cash gifts home.

....meanwhile:

  • 2 out of 3 of the world's mobile phones are prepaid (85% in developing countries).
  • In developing countries, telecommunications represent up to 10% of household expenses.

Crediting a prepaid mobile phone abroad (i.e. making an international top-up) has become a proven way for migrants to make low cost, high value gift to their loved ones.

T-Shop makes it simple for retailers to plug into TransferTo's network of 165+ mobile operators in over 65 countries and capitalize on international airtime top-ups, a $20 billion market.

How it works?

The T-Shop airtime transfer service is distributed through retailers at POS (Point of Sales) level via a web browser.

First, customers choose the amount they want to top-up. The shop keeper or clerk behind the counter then proceeds with the international top-up by entering their request into the browser form.

The shopkeeper collects cash only when he/she has received notification that the transaction was successful and that the receiving mobile was properly credited.
